again, partner. Its ubiquitous. Frankly, we find it kind
of silly because it is meaningless in the typical supplier/customer
relationship. A business partnership sounds good but as
two separate entities it is, in fact, problematic. Such a
partnership is also unrealistic due to separate and disparate
objectives. Conflicts may arise when objectives are not in
synch (i.e. costs increase, response slows, problem
identification/resolution process becomes ineffective or at the
least, costly). Control of your system infrastructure is
potentially placed in the wrong hands, your supplier! The relationship works
best in organizations with budget and/or manpower to manage
resources.
